Location: The Michelago cemetery is situated on the Monaro Highway . From the turn off to the Michelago Village follow the Highway for 1 klm on the Cooma side of the Village. Turn right through a gate. Make sure you close the gate, as there could be horses in the paddock. Once through the gate turn left and follow the dirt track for 100 metres and you will come to the cemetery. There is a signpost on the main road.

The lower portion of the Cemetery is the Catholic section with the Church of England section at the top. There is no clear boundary marking the two areas.

The first burial to take place was on the 28 December 1860. The grave is of an Unknown Irish male who died 26 December 1860 from a blow to the head.

The Michelago Cemetery Trust has been doing a wonderful job in identifying unmarked graves, obtaining information on deaths and placing plaques on the graves giving a wealth of information.

I have obtained an additional 31 names of burials that have taken place that don't have markers.
