Forbes Cemetery contains some famous historic grave sites - Notorious bushranger Ben Hall shot to death by a hail of gunfire to the north-west of town, 5th May 1865 aged 27 years Fellow gang-members - Warrigal Walsh (Ben Hall's brother-in law) died Forbes 22nd March 1863 aged 17 yrs (site now unmarked) John O'Meally (Member of Ben Hall's Gang) shot dead "Goimbla" 19th November 1863 aged 23 years Billy Dargin (Police Blacktracker) died Forbes 28th October 1865 aged 22 years

Kate Foster (nee Kelly) sister of Ned and Dan Kelly, beloved wife of William Foster drowned in the Lachlan 1898 aged 36 years

Rebecca Shields - Captain Cook's great-grandniece died September 20 1902 aged 84 years
