This cemetery has been levelled and is now part of the grounds of St. Josephs School on Victoria Road. It is estimated that there were approximately 75 burials between 1848 and 1908. The photograph of the Pioneer Memorial on the site of the cemetery is difficult to read but it reads as follows: Beati Mortui Qui in Domino Moriuntur (Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord). Erected to the memory of the Catholic pioneers whose remains lie buried in these grounds, 1848 - 1948 R.I.P. Several surviving headstones have been placed in a retaining wall in the school grounds. The Clare Regional History Group have a list of the headstones and a burial register Regards
