Howard was the eldest of three children born in Pinjarra to William & Lily Taylor. Sister Winifred Inez married Stanley Chamberlain both buried near Howard & Jean in plot 138. His younger brother Gordon (next record) is buried in plot 1 Anglican G2

Howard spent his life serving the Pinjarra community.  On the 26th January, 1985 he was presented with the Order of Australia Medal for the longest serving member of a hospital board in WA. Thirty years as chairman, also as the chairman of the ‘Frail Aged Lodge’ Establishment Committee, on which he served from 1968 to 1983. The Governor, Professor Gordon Reid, presented the award at Government House.
